Alexander T. Leventhal is a Managing Director of HKL.

Prior to joining HKL, Mr. Leventhal served for 7 years as the President and CEO of Donlin Recano & Company, Inc., a leading Bankruptcy and Class Action settlement administrator.  Before assuming that post, Mr. Leventhal served for 4 years as the President and CEO of Taylor Rafferty LLC, a global investor relations and financial communications firm with a focus on cross-border capital markets access.  In addition, Mr. Leventhal previously served as a Senior Vice President of D.F. King, specializing in complicated consent solicitations, M&A transactions, and proxy contests, serving clients in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.  Beforehand, Mr. Leventhal was an executive with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), where he managed mission-critical technology implementation projects for a variety of private and public sector clients.

His experience encompasses proxy contests, contentious consent solicitations, and restructurings occurring in the U.S. and Europe, along with stakeholder communications consulting for publicly traded companies and private equity firms.  Mr. Leventhal advised American Express on merchant communications arising from antitrust litigation with the Department of Justice and the SIPC on litigation relating to the Madoff fraud, along with many similar projects, including Visa’s solicitation of consents from its member banks to approve its IPO.

While at Accenture, Mr. Leventhal implemented a city-wide GIS system for the NYC Office of Emergency Management, and was responsible for the construction of all voice and data infrastructure for the NYC 3-1-1 citizen’s service center.  Mr. Leventhal has also been tapped by City, State, and Federal agencies as they respond to crises, including  New York City’s “Rapid Repairs” program in response to Hurricane Sandy.

Mr. Leventhal was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors by Union College in Schenectady, NY, and a Juris Doctor degree with honors by Albany Law School in Albany, NY, where he also served on the Albany Law School Law Review.
